Beijing Journey - A Yummy One!

I'll be departing to Beijing for business in a few hours time ... it's now 4:10am and I'm gonna wake up at 6am and rush to airport for a 9:xx am flight. Will stay there for 3 nights and be back on Mar 30 late night.

Already, I'm longing for the 新疆燒烤羊肉串 in 王府井 (WangFuJing)... yummy yummy yummy!

Beijing means Busy?

What would come to your mind if you think of Beijing? Tiananmen? Historical sites? Traffic jam? Myassociations are busy and relaxing. Reason being that I'm gonna fly to Beijing for business this Sun for 3 nights and all of a sudden I need to search around the Net to arrange appointments. Worked like crazy yesterday to triple check the budget of the department I'm working in ('cos I look after that for my department) now that the end of the 2004/2005 fiscal year is approaching. Finally managed to complete that monster in the evening and got my boss' endorsement. Then I rushed to the appointment arrangement thing right after but you know that is another monster which will likely to take up a lot of time.

Anyway ... A little update ... The manager looking after my team arrived yesterday. Stay tuned in for more updates.

Unbelievable ... It only took me 20 mins from Wanchai to Ma On Shan ... and I'm in my room already. ZzzzZZZzzzZ good night buddies.

Crazy Taxi

I'm now in a taxi on the way home ... The driver looks like one who will fall asleep in the next few seconds. The meter reads 100km/hr right now ... I hope I would arrive home safely & in one piece. God bless.

網 站 去 年 十 月 面 世 ， 被 喻 為 「 工 作 世 界 的 eBay 」 ， 網 址 是 www.jobdumping.de ， 運 作 很 簡 單 ， 僱 主 可 貼 出 職 位 和 願 意 付 出 的 最 高 工 資 ， 讓 有 興 趣 的 求 職 者 上 網 競 投 ， 提 出 願 意 接 受 的 最 低 工 資 ， 誰 提 出 的 工 資 最 低 ， 誰 就 可 投 得 工 作 。

一 份 正 接 受 競 投 的 家 居 清 潔 工 作 ， 已 有 七 人 出 價 ， 最 低 薪 金 是 每 小 時 約 九 十 四 港 元 ， 但 距 離 這 份 工 的 投 標 限 期 還 有 九 日 ， 相 信 價 位 還 有 很 大 下 調 空 間 。

除 了 僱 主 貼 出 職 位 和 工 資 ， 求 職 者 同 樣 可 貼 出 技 能 和 要 求 薪 金 ， 讓 僱 主 競 投 。 不 過 ， 叫 求 職 者 自 貶 工 資 的 做 法 ， 還 是 極 具 爭 議 性 。 很 多 德 國 人 都 指 ， 在 失 業 率 高 企 和 失 業 津 貼 削 減 的 時 候 ， 這 個 網 站 簡 直 是 乘 機 剝 削 失 業 人 士 ， 再 踩 他 們 一 腳 。

德 國 工 會 組 織 DGB 的 研 究 中 心 就 強 烈 批 評 這 個 網 站 ， 並 設 立 一 個 反 擊 網 站 ， 列 出 工 會 議 訂 各 種 行 業 的 最 低 時 薪 。 自 由 民 主 黨 的 勞 工 市 場 專 家 尼 布 爾 更 直 指 該 網 站 「 不 道 德 」 ， 猶 如 「 奴 隸 市 場 」 ， 在 這 種 情 況 下 無 可 能 保 證 到 工 作 質 素 。

不 過 ， 這 個 網 站 的 創 立 人 洛 伊 反 駁 ： 「 相 比 其 他 歐 洲 國 家 ， 德 國 的 工 資 高 得 不 合 理 ， 必 須 重 新 議 價 。 我 們 沒 有 剝 削 網 站 會 員 或 失 業 人 士 ， 所 有 人 都 能 自 由 決 定 何 時 何 地 工 作 ， 更 重 要 的 是 ， 他 們 想 賺 多 少 薪 金 。 」

他 說 ， 現 時 失 業 率 創 二 次 大 戰 後 的 新 高 ， 人 們 應 接 受 工 資 須 討 價 還 價 的 事 實 ， 「 我 們 希 望 提 醒 大 家 必 須 談 論 薪 金 問 題 ， 預 備 就 薪 金 進 行 議 價 」 。 他 又 指 這 個 網 站 有 助 創 造 就 業 機 會 ， 「 只 有 工 資 下 調 ， 公 司 、 家 庭 、 企 業 家 和 自 由 工 作 者 才 可 再 創 造 職 位 」 。

Had a nice chat yesterday evening with my friend Joseph who is flying back from Australia to Hong Kong for a vacation. Spent 1.5 hr in Starbucks with a Grapefruit juice ... lots of memories and inpirations.
