The Long-Awaited Album

brad's cyberspace, bradford lee, brad lee, lee ka pong, lee ka pong bradford, hong kongThe long-awaited new album from Norah Jones is out recently. I wasn't aware of that until today when I walked by HMV in Admiralty. Without a second thought, I grabbed one immediately and have that imported into my iTunes in my home PC.

Sadly, I discovered that my bluetooth earphone doesn't work for a few days already ... that means music won't be with me when I'm away home until I get that fixed (luckily SonyEricsson repair centre is just located in Hopewell Centre, right next to my office!).

Fireworks

brad's cyberspace, bradford lee, brad lee, lee ka pong, lee ka pong bradford, hong kongHaven't seen live fireworks for quite some years already. Tonight, my family booked a table on the top floor of a hotel in Kowloon to celebrate the New Year (i.e. 開年) and for the fireworks.

We went outdoor to view the fireworks at 8pm and then went back to the indoor dining room to continue the dinner. Though the weather was not perfect, we all had fun.

I brought my digital camera (but without a battery!) ... so I had to switch to my dummy mobile phone for these lower quality photos. How stupid! :)

Protege 門徒 (B-)

brad's cyberspace, bradford lee, brad lee, lee ka pong, lee ka pong bradford, hong kongThe very first target to be achieved in the Year of the Pig: watch both "Protege" and "Night at the Museum" during the 3 days Chinese New Year holiday. Managed to watch Protege last night ... not sure if I can complete this mission tonight.

The director Derek Yee (爾冬陞) tries to give too much details about the Heroin industry - too overwhelming actually. I'm fine with the simple story though. In the last scene, Daniel Wu, who plays as a undercover agent in the film, wondered why people take drugs ... and asked whether drugs or loneliness is more scary ... probably the latter, if I was asked.

Overall, I'll give Protege a B-.

New Impression towards Government Hospitals

brad's cyberspace, bradford lee, brad lee, lee ka pong, lee ka pong bradford, hong kongI took a day off on Monday to accompany my mum for a small operation. Everything went smoothly and that Monday was a peaceful one. While I was waiting for my mum, I managed to finish a newspaper and also a 70-page document (which I should have read last week in office!). And most valuable of all is that I had almost a full day time staying with my family.

I seldom visit hospitals ... and my impression towards government hospitals have been changed this time ... 'cos I found the staff there were very friendly, sincere and caring with patients and their families, and the environment was pretty clean too. A big thank you to all staff in Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital!

From Paris to Hong Kong

brad's cyberspace, bradford lee, brad lee, lee ka pong, lee ka pong bradford, hong kongA few months ago, I was with Chris in Berlin and Frankfurt for the WorldCup.

This morning, I saw a photo on the board standing on my desk ... that was taken in Jan 2005 in a farewell party for Chris who was about to depart for Paris for a two-year posting. He's back. And yesterday I had lunch with him. Does time really fly?

From My Friends & I

Khalil Fong in Concert

brad's cyberspace, bradford lee, brad lee, lee ka pong, lee ka pong bradford, hong kongWatched Khalil Fong's live performance twice this week. One during the Sina Music Award on Monday and tonight as well. He had his first concert in Hong Kong tonight in the Arts Centre. It was full house (though the Arts Centre's hall is pretty small actually) ... from what I observed, the audience really liked Khalil - the way he sang, performed and interacted with the audience.

Among the guests who went on stage (e.g. Fiona 薛凱琪, 農夫 and Andy Hui), I particularly liked Andy Hui who sang 大愛 with Khalil. 林夕 specially wrote some Putonghua lyrics of 大愛 for this concert so that Khalil was able to sing together with Andy Hui for the song. But this was the thing that I didn't understand ... he said he has a rule that he won't sing Cantonese songs ... I really don't understand ... though among the Chinese community, the Putonghua-speaking crowd is larger, it wouldn't be wise to forget about the majority of Hong Kong people who are able to help him establish a strong foothold in the Asian market ... so, I'm still wondering even now, anyway, I enjoyed the show very much ... probably the best show I've watched in these few years.
